Abstract: Based on the analysis of sample tests, this paper studied the distribution characteristics of trace elements in coal of Xinyu Meishan coal mine area, and the change rule of vertical distribution in different coal seam. Preliminary discussed occurrences of trace elements enrichment in coal. Research shows that firstly, Ga, U, F, P, As , etc. trace elements have higher content compared with average data of China, while the content of Ge, Cl element are below the average contents of China. Ge, U & As are obviously richer than the average content of the earth's crust, the enrichment coefficient(EF) of these elements exceed 1,U element especially rich (Ef=19.38). The trace elements content of lower coal seam are relatively higher than that of the upper coal seam in the same coal. Trace elements of Ge,U,Cl and P are mainly associated with inorganic matter in coals, Ga,FandAs are mainly associated with organic matter in coals, Ga and F mainly adistribute in clay minerals, As is mainly in pyrite.
